They're never going to unbuckle their repression and deal with sexuality; it is just something that will have to die out, but it may not. Domination-based hierarchies of power are adaptive and resilient; patriarchy and fascism are not the worst form or order imaginable, and they are not utter disorder. They are a broken, hideous way of coping, and in an impoverished, war-torn land they may prove both a growing reality and also an easily relinquished one in small pockets of refuge. Power poses one question: are you possessed by fear or love? Some people do choose love.
